PHP is specialized in the production of SMC hydraulic press which is high efficient, energy-saving and stable by using a servo system. Since the composite products are large comparatively, so the table size is also large, in this condition, we only choose to heat the molds rather than the table, or the energy consumption would be higher. Another reason is that if we heat the table, one would be unable to go inside the table to load or unload the materials due to the high temperature.
The mold-heating methods include oil heating with die heater, electric heating or steam heating, and there are merits and limitations of each method.
Heating method | Oil heating | Electric heating | Steam heating |
Advantages | Heated evenly | Clean & pollution-free | Clean & pollution-free; low use-cost in the long run |
Limitations | oil leaks at the connector of the heating tube with die heater due to long time heating | There will be several temperature areas, and once the heating tube is broken, the heating won't be even. | A separate steam room is needed, so the one-time investment at the start is high. |
